  4. hello, it’s a nice factsheet to introducing Taiwan to the world.
May I asking a question? Are you a Taiwanese?
Because in Taiwan, people seem don’t have a discussion on woman’s right to work, recycling rate, LGBT…even they are happened.
And why do you have this idea to do this factsheet?
    thank you!

    1. I was born in Taiwan, but was raised in America for most of my life. I did this factsheet mostly to spread awareness about Taiwan for my peers here in the states. The Trump phone call with Tsai Ing-Wen brought Taiwan into the international spotlight for the last few weeks, so this was made for all the people curious to learn more.
Taiwan is one of the more socially progressive nations in Asia, I personally like talking about US politics with my friends and from time to time it’s interesting to draw analogies to what is going on in Taiwan. In my opinion, grassroot movements in Taiwan are pretty strong and vibrant, so even if mainstream media dismisses them, if you look for them chances are you will be able to find them. I’m no expert though, just a hunch.

  5. Can you change the Woman to Female in the sentence “1st woman president”. It should be “1st female president”?

    1. I had the same thought initially, though a highly debated topic.

  6. Hey, well done and good job! Just a quick double check, in your source nr. 7 (http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SG.GEN.PARL.ZS) showed no stats about 38% legislators are women in Taiwan – do you have other source could support this? Thanks!

    1. Source #5, unfortunately some sites do not recognize Taiwan. Hope this helps.
